justforhope
celebrating Benji's life

"Endurance is one of the most difficult disciplines, but it is to the one who endures that the final victory comes"....Buddha

 Oh no....

Looks like there maybe more running ahead.........

19/06/10 Hope was fantastic in the Race for Life.  Apart from a few very short piggy-backs she ran the whole 5k in horribly hot muggy conditions. Oscar ran with her for the last 1/2k and I couldn't keep up their pace so was thoroughly beaten.
So, that's it !!  The 54 miles complete.
Thank you everyone who has sponsored, cheered or egged us on. You have all made a difference. xxx16/05/10 Thank you so much for the sponsorship and good wishes.  The Town & Gown was a great success today with Matthew and Alan achieving brilliant personal bests and me, as usual just being glad to reach the finish line.

Finally added the few pictures that we have from Paris.  Both too tired to think about posing for photos after the run. Matthew finished in 3:38 and I am proud of my 7 hours - I wasn't even last :)

 29/03/10

I have just added another 13.1 miles to the original 54 and will run the Royal Parks Half marathon (providing my knees agree). This is for the Childrens' education centre and they will put Benji's name under the statue of ISIS in Hyde park if we raise them £1,000.

  21/03/10

We completed the Reading Half Marathon today - both achieving personal best times. (Photos coming soon.)  It's the big one next!  Please click here for Running Events .

Why fundraise?

Working together as a family to help other people is a nice, positive and active thing to do. Our ultimate aim will be to create a fund that can be accessed to meet the needs of families or individuals following a bereavement or crisis. Rather than being a charity that says "This is what we do" we would like to say "How can we help?"  We have no grand plans - but the thought that our actions might help even one person will be reward enough.

Please click here if you would like to make a donation to one of the charities that we are supporting.

Benjamin Tait

5th May 1990 - 8th January 2009.

Last year we had a lovely family Christmas and New Year skiing holiday with Benji.  On our return he went back to college in Banbury and after being given a cherryade drink at a friends house that contained oral morphine, he went peacefully to sleep and didn't wake up.  He died on Hope's 5th birthday and, quite rightly, she's pretty cross about that.

This website and the 'justforhope' fund that we want to create to support charities and help individuals in need, marks a celebration of Benji's life and is 'for Hope' as it's the least she deserves.
